In the box
So what comes in the box of Vivo Y33s? When you purchase one you also get complete accessories. You get a device itself, a pair of wired earphones, a USB-C cable, and an 18W fast charger. You should also be getting a transparent case in the box.
The Vivo Y33s has a design that is reminiscent of the Vivo v21. This one comes into interesting colors, Mirror Black, and Midday Dream. The latter is the one we think is a more interesting design. It is a mirror. Very much reflective and glossy. So if you’ll be using without the case, be ready to be wiping off those fingerprint smudges. Whereas it looks like glass, it is actually plastic on its rear. Its triple cameras are aligned at the top left side.
This phone has a rather squared or boxy design which feels premium in the hands. Its volume rocker and power button are conventionally placed (RHS) in an easy-to-reach position. The power button also hosts the fingerprint scanner which is very responsive and instantly unlocks the device. You can opt for face unlock if that is your preferred choice. Its headphone jack USB-C port and mono speaker are at the bottom frame while the SIM slot is at the top. The same supports microSD cards.
Let us chat cameras of the Vivo Y33s and it boasts a 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF main camera, accompanied by a 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro) camera and 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) sensor. Yeah, no ultrawide shooter here. And the selfie camera is a 16 MP, f/2.0, (wide) shooter. You will get good-looking photos from the rare camera with a good dynamic range.
By virtue of its 50-megapixel main camera, you can activate the 50-megapixel mode to take the same pixel photos. You will get higher-resolution photos this way. It has a super night mode which does great to give you better low light images with less noise. This phone actually takes sharp photos with good skin tones, put on portrait and normal modes.
What you are getting here for display with the Vivo Y33s is 6.58 inches, Fukk HD IPS LCD display with a high pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. It is quite vibrant for an LCD display with this brightness level which makes it fit for use. It has a water drop that houses its 16 MP selfie camera. This is a sharp display suitable for watching media content.
The color temperature of this display can be adjusted under settings. And the three color settings available here are standard, which is default, professional and bright. One thing which this display lacks that we see on a couple of other devices at this price point is a higher than 60Hz refresh rate. Not a deal-breaker since this panel is actually quite responsive.
Under the hood of Vivo Y33s is a Mediatek MT6769V/CU Helio G80 processor. That is the same processor you will find on the Vivo Y53S which is also available on our website. Be sure to check it out. It is a 12-nanometer processor which is optimized to give good gaming performance. Its benchmark score is higher than what the Samsung Galaxy A22 scores just for context. This phone packs, a 5000 mAh, non-removable battery which can power it through the whole day on a full charge. That is without needing to recharge. Fast battery charging 18W is also supported here.
When it comes to its software, Vivo Y33s runs on an Android 11 with Funtouch 11.1. This can be described as a pretty lightweight OS that is neat and almost bloatware-free. Almost! Actually, it is very quiet to the stock Android experience. But of course, it has a lot of customization options. Otherwise, it would just be pure Android 11. You can customize your charging animation, or even the face unlock animation.
There is also have Ultra Game Mode for an improved gaming experience. vivo Y33s comes with 4GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Some regions might have 8 GB of RAM. That RAM Extension feature uses memory from 128GB to increase the RAM capacity by 1 gigabyte. This just helps the device run more smoothly.
The Vivo Y33s, you will notice its slick design and very slim profile. But underneath all of that is the Mediatek MT6769V/CU Helio G80 (12 nm) chipset which this device has 4 GB of RAM, an additional 1 GB RAM by extension, 50-megapixel triple rear camera set up, and an a1080 P display all for less than 30,000 Kenya shillings. This one sort of checks out with the competition. The Vivo Y33s is as powerful as the Vivo Y53s by virtue of the same processor, and again, it has that slick design that will turn heads.
