Realme C12 overview

For the past couple of years, the Realme C-series has been one of the most bangs for your buck devices out there for budget centric consumers. We’ve seen the real me C11, C15, and now we’re finishing off the last quarter of 2020 with the new Realme C12. Further adding another layer to the hierarchy of Realme. Well, how does it stack up? Let’s find out – see also Realme C11

Display

Checking out the display you get a 6.5 inch IPS panel running at a resolution of 720 x 1560, which equates to 27264 0 PPI. Colors, nice and vibrant even without the OSIE vision effect found in the more expensive Realme and Oppo phones. Viewing angles are decent and show good contrast, especially when watching multimedia content. The Realme C12 it’s very usable in harsh lighting situations like when you’re outdoors. And for a phone with a 720p display output is still quite sharp from a normal standpoint.

Cameras

For cameras, Realme C12 has a total of five. We get a triple rear setup consisting of a 13megapixel primary sensor, 2 MP B/W, f/2.4, and a 2megapixel depth sensor. In front. We get a 5megapixel sensor for selfies. Unfortunately, there is no option to change the quality of photos in the settings. But video recording does let you change the resolution from either 720p to 1080p. Shots taken with the rear camera aren’t bad, especially with HDR turned on.

Platform and performance

Running, the software department Realme UI based on Android 10. Realme has come into their own with their skin called colors OS. While it still generally feels like the skin is based on its previous OS, Real me UI is a delight to use thanks to its fluidity security, and useful features like Realme share. Pre-installed applications include the standard Google suite, as well as Realme’s native applications, including real mean link and game space. It’s nice to see a clean homepage from factory default with not a lot of bloatware upon initial startup.

When it comes to storage out of 32 gigabytes total of 12.8 gigabytes is taken up by system files, leaving you with only 19.2 gigabytes of usable space. But again, you can always insert in micro SD card up to 256 gigabytes of expandable storage. Since the Realme C12 does have a fingerprint scanner. The only layer of security we have is face unlock, which surprisingly works well even in dark environments. You might also like to see Realme 6

At the core of Realme C12 is the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset with the Power VR 8320 GPU, along with 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of EMMC, 5.1 storage. Performance is sufficient for most basic tasks like social media and other light apps. When it comes to multitasking, the low amount of RAM takes at stolen, several things are happening in the background at once, but if you’re not at the juggle through different apps, it should work just fine.

Audio

Audio-wise, the Realme C12 utilizes a single downwardfiring speaker, which performed all right as expected. There isn’t much bass, which is okay since again, this isn’t an entry-level phone. But if we’re talking about loudness and clarity, the 11 passes with flying colors for entry-level smartphone standards – you may also like Realme C3

Battery

For power, it comes with a 6,000 mAh battery which supports 10watt charging. This huge capacity combined with the new resolution screen and power-efficient chipset provide an easy 2-day battery life. Charging however is slow given the limited 10-watt power delivery. Standard video loop tests see Realme C12 give a total of 23 hours and 25minutes of playback making this device a good companion for continuous multimedia consumption. Charging the device up via charging 10W.

Recommendation

Now for a phone that’s well-designed has great battery life and boasts a very capable entry-level processor, the Realme C12 is a good choice for those want a well-balanced device that has decent giving performance for a bargain price on a separate note. It’s already great as it is. But what would have made the, and all that much better it’s of course, a USB type C port. Again, I guess that’s something to the forward do for the next generation.
