The OnePlus 9 Pro has a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display that offers adaptive refresh rate support (1-120Hz) and has a resolution of 3216 x 1440 pixels. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 chip with Adreno 660 and supports 5G. The 9 Pro has a 48MP primary camera,  50MP wide-angle camera, an 8MP 3.3x telephoto camera, and a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 16MP selfie shooter. The phone is available in Morning Mist, Forest Green, Stellar Black colors.

Design and build

You will love the OnePlus 9 Pro’s classy design, and that it shares even with the base model. There are the glossy back and the metallic edging. There’s the neat camera unit. And you will also really love it in whatsoever color options to choose from Morning Mist, Forest Green, to Stellar Black. Its screen doesn’t curve at the edges almost like what Samsung did with its Galaxy S21 Series high-end phones. The phone does have official waterproofing in IP68 dust/water resistance up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. As for the dimensions and weight, we are looking at 163.2 x 73.6 x 8.7 mm and 197 grams respectively.

Performance

One would have expected the OnePlus 9 Pro to have a higher-end processor than the base Oneplus 9. But no Oneplus has included the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which is an absolute beast. Gaming, photo editing, video streaming, everything gets handled seamlessly and effortlessly. There is nothing you will possibly find that will slow it down at all. It’s a pleasure to use in everyday tasks as well. Thanks in part to the 120 Hertz refresh rate of the screen, which just makes swiping around local buttery smooth.

And also the really neat, simple Android 11 based interface. Both of which are also featured on the 9 Pro. And we are looking at Android 11 with OxygenOS 11.3.3 here. The phone itself boasts an Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 680 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 680 & 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 680 CPU and Adreno 660 GPU.

Battery and fast charging

This Oneplus 9 Pro smartphone has the same 4,500 mAh battery as the Oneplus 9 yet the latter’s battery life is better. And why is this? Well, probably all about the screen which is slightly smaller and it has a lower resolution. So that means fewer pixels to light up and therefore less of a drain on battery life. Not to worry though. The battery here is still a great performer and should you hammer it down fast you will enjoy 65W fast charging as the Pro version. Yes, that is 1-100% in just 43 min.
