Detailed Product Description

Body Build and Design

Vivo G2 is a budget smartphone with a body made of glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back. It measures 163.7 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm and weighs 186 g. Arguably, it is relatively featherlight and slim, thus comfortable to handle and carry with you as you work, and travel. It supports dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) cards, giving you the option to select at least 2 optional GSM Networks to keep you connected. The handset is available in a single Space Black colorway.

Other notable features of Vivo G2’s impressive body frame are a 6.56-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen, side-mounted scanners integrated into the power button for biometric authentication, a 3.5mm jack for sound output, and a USB Type C 2.0 port for charging and transferring data.

Display

Vivo G2 has a 6.56-inch HD+ IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a water drop notch for the selfie camera and supports 840 nits of peak brightness. Moreover, the handset’s display is protected by an unknown glass and has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 269 ppi density. Although not the brightest of the display, it is decent enough for viewing, chatting, and general communication.

Vivo G2 Camera Set up

The handset has a simple camera setup featuring a single rear and front camera. The rear camera is a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and an anti-stroboscopic sensor. It can record 1080p videos at 30fps and has features like LED flash and panorama. The front camera is a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.8 aperture that can also record 1080p videos. You will capture decent snapshots and videos, but quite basic compared to rival brands and Vivo’s other models like Vivo V30 5G which have a sophisticated camera setup and superior picture and video output.

 Performance

Processor

It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chip, which is a 7nm octa-core processor with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It also has a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for graphics. Overall, the handset is decent in multi-tasking, gaming basic games, and providing a seamless experience for general phone functions.

OS

It runs on Android 13-based OriginOS 3, which is Vivo’s custom skin that offers features such as a smart desktop, multi-turbo 5.0, and privacy protection.

Memory

It has up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which can handle multitasking and store plenty of files. However, it does not have a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
