oraimo OpenSnap Air Open-Ear True Wireless Earbuds Technical Specifications

Detailed Product Description

Open-Ear Design That Keeps You Connected to Your Surroundings

The oraimo OpenSnap Air takes a different approach to wireless audio. Instead of inserting an earbud into the ear canal, each earpiece clips around the ear and rests outside the canal. This arrangement allows you to listen to music, podcasts and other audio while retaining greater awareness of your immediate environment. It is particularly useful when working at a desk, walking in areas where you need to hear announcements, or listening to audio while remaining available for conversations.

The clip-on construction follows the natural curve of the ear, with oraimo describing the fit as lightweight and pressure-free. An embedded 0.5mm nickel-titanium alloy wire helps the clip maintain its shape. According to oraimo’s laboratory testing, the wire passed 5,000 bending tests. This design is intended to provide a more secure fit during everyday movement without relying on an ear tip inserted into the canal.

12mm Drivers and HavyBass Sound Enhancement

Open-ear headphones have a different acoustic design from conventional in-ear earbuds. The OpenSnap Air uses 12mm PU titanium composite drivers to deliver sound from outside the ear canal. oraimo combines these drivers with its HavyBass enhancement to emphasise low frequencies while maintaining clear vocals and brighter high frequencies.

This configuration is suited to everyday listening, including music, podcasts, video content and mobile gaming. However, because the earbuds do not create a sealed fit, the listening experience is more exposed to environmental noise than that of noise-isolating in-ear earbuds. Sound can also be audible to people nearby, particularly at higher playback volumes. For listeners who value environmental awareness over passive noise isolation, this is an important design consideration.

Smart Adaptive Volume for Changing Environments

The OpenSnap Air supports Smart Adaptive Volume through the oraimo sound app. Once the feature is enabled, the earbuds detect changes in surrounding noise and automatically adjust playback volume. This can be useful when moving between quieter and noisier environments, reducing the need to keep adjusting volume manually.

The feature depends on the companion app, so it should not be confused with a standard hardware function that operates independently of the app. It also does not turn the earbuds into noise-cancelling headphones. Instead, it adjusts playback volume to respond to changes in the listening environment.

AI-Enhanced Call Noise Reduction with Dual Microphones

For calls, the OpenSnap Air uses two microphones alongside a DNN-based AI call noise reduction algorithm. The technology is designed to help distinguish the user’s voice from background noise, improving voice pickup during calls in busy environments such as streets and commuting routes.

This is call-focused noise reduction, not Active Noise Cancellation. The earbuds do not provide ANC for music playback or block external sound from reaching your ears. Their open-ear construction deliberately leaves the ear canal unobstructed.

Up to 35 Hours of Battery Life

Battery performance is another important consideration for everyday wireless earbuds. The OpenSnap Air provides up to five hours of playback on a single charge, while the charging case extends the advertised total listening time to up to 35 hours. This gives you additional listening time between access to a power source.

When you need a quick recharge, oraimo states that a 15-minute charge can provide up to two hours of music playback. The charging case uses a USB Type-C input, making it compatible with widely used Type-C charging cables. Actual battery life will vary depending on playback volume, usage patterns, connection conditions and enabled features.

Bluetooth 6.0, Dual-Device Connection and Google Fast Pair

The OpenSnap Air uses Bluetooth 6.0 for wireless connectivity, with a stated range of up to 10 metres under suitable conditions. It also supports dual-device connection, allowing you to connect two devices and switch between them. This is useful if you regularly move between a smartphone and a laptop, for example.

Compatible Android devices can also use Google Fast Pair to simplify the initial pairing process. When you take the earbuds out of their case, a supported Android phone can detect them and present a pairing prompt. For mobile gaming, the dedicated Game Mode offers a stated 0.09-second low-latency response. The companion app also supports personalised Bluetooth naming and access to additional settings.

oraimo sound App and AI Translation Features

The oraimo sound app extends the functionality of the OpenSnap Air beyond basic Bluetooth playback. It provides access to Smart Adaptive Volume and additional software-based features. oraimo also advertises real-time translation, chat translation and other AI tools through the app.

These capabilities depend on the companion app and the availability of the relevant services. They should not be interpreted as independent translation hardware built into the earbuds. Users should check app compatibility, supported languages and feature availability before relying on these tools for important conversations.

Who Should Buy the oraimo OpenSnap Air?

The OpenSnap Air is worth considering if you want wireless earbuds that do not sit inside your ear canal. Its clip-on construction suits people who find conventional in-ear tips uncomfortable or prefer a listening arrangement that leaves them more aware of their surroundings. The design can work well for desk use, everyday commuting, walking and light workouts, provided the fit is comfortable and secure. It is also a practical option for users who frequently switch between devices, take calls and want longer combined battery life.

However, it is not the right choice if your priority is blocking traffic noise, concentrating in a noisy office, or listening privately in a quiet environment. In those situations, noise-isolating or ANC-equipped headphones may be more appropriate.
