Oppo A72 5G FAQ
How does Oppo A92 5G compare with the original Oppo A92? OPPO A92 was a great mid-range smartphone. Albeit, with some flaws which its 5G version now presents as trivial. The latter has a 48 MP primary camera while the former only a 16 MP triple camera.
There is also a difference in battery with the 4G A92 by Oppo having a larger battery capacity at 5000 mAh whilst the 5G version only has a 4040 mAh battery. However, Oppo A92 5G comes with a more powerful 5G processor in MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G and has a 90Hz display refresh rate. Something you do not see in midrange smartphones every day.
90Hz refresh rate
High refresh rates are catching up with market demands fast. A refresh rate is the number of times your monitor updates with new images each second. For example, a 90 Hz refresh rate (OnePlus Nord also) means the display updates 90 times per second. A higher refresh rate results in a smoother picture. The display itself is a 6.5 inches, IPS LCD (strangely) panel with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 16M colors, and a 405 PPI density. To be honest, this one of the best displays you will find on a smartphone in this price range especially because of this refresh rate features. At the top right corner of Oppo A72 5G’s display is a hole-punch wherein the selfie camera sits.
MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset
With innate energy-efficient innovations in an ultra-small 7nm SoC, the MediaTek Dimensity 720 which Oppo A72 5G is powered with is the most efficient 5G chip in its class. In addition to a fully-integrated 5G modem, MediaTek 5G Ultra Save provides a range of extra power-saving technologies – source. The phone also comes with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM also OnePlus 8.
The same is of UFS 2.1 infrastructure which means a faster storage and all that good stuff. Here you also get a dedicated slot for microSDXC which with you can expand the internal storage. Now, Oppo A72 5G runs Android 10 with ColorOS version 7.2. As already mentioned it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G (7 nm), Octa-core (2x Cortex-A76 & 6x Cortex-A55) CPU and a Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. ColorOS is a mobile operating system created by OPPO Electronics.
It is the same design we saw on the 4G Oppo A72 that we see on the 5G version. The two are the same phones concerning outward appearance, feel in hand, and even dimensions. Perhaps what stands out the most is the hole punch display Oppo A72 5G comes with. Wait for it. It looks just like the one we saw on the high-end Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G. This phone, however, is slimmer in size than the 4G version so it might be able to accommodate its smaller battery. We are talking 7.9 mm in thickness.
And with phones, the slimmer, the sleeker. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front panel and this is a Dual SIM smartphone. On the back panel of this phone, you will see a camera module in Redmi 9 fashion. That is to say, a square. Its fingerprint scanner is side-mounted and yes, the phone does have a 3.5 mm jack. As for the display, Oppo A72 5G has a 6.5 inches, display with 1080 x 2400 pixels and a neat touch of 90Hz refresh rate. It does have a ~405 ppi density and support for 16M colors.
