Nokia 800 Tough

Nokia- connecting people. It is impossible to forget the giant smartphone (that time it was just phone) company Nokia. And Nokia isn’t making it any easier for us because each time the company releases ‘throwback’ smartphones if I can call them that that take us back to the good old days of when cell phones were just making debut.

I mean, you see Nokia 800 Tough your mind turns to the 2000s, for those who were lucky to be around then. But this, and now is 2019. I cannot wait to tell you about this release by Nokia. And for it to be called Tough should speak volumes since Nokia are usually truthful with their naming. It is build to last, it is tough. This we shall explore later on.

Design and build

I am tempted to leave my description this phone’s build at this- it is build to last and to be tough. Seriously that would be enough information to give. Nonetheless I have to tell you another feature you will really appreciate here. And if you cannot guess it I will spit it out, this is a water proof smartphone.

That is right! You can play around the pool with this one and have no worries. Also let me remind you that Nokia 800 Tough is not a touch screen device. It comes with a physical 2abc 3def keypad. On the back you will see its speaker grill to the right of the camera, and the LED flash to the left of that same camera. On board is a durable casing.

Facing you will also be the display panel on top of the keypad and a call speaker at the top middle. We’re not going to talk about bezels here. Again, the build here would break the floor should you drop your phone, handle with care. It weighs just 161 grams and is 16.1mm thick. Now that is a thick phone.

Display and camera

I’ll start with the camera since there isn’t so much to report. It is a 2MP camera lens and that is just it. The display is TFT with support for 265K colors. This is to be expected for a phone in this bracket so do not imagine I bear bad news. This is perfectly acceptable. If this were not the case, Phone Place Kenya would neither sell nor campaign for this phone.

Platform

Is there an Android build for this phone or any other like it really? Not that I know of. So Nokia tweaked a special OS here KaiOS for Nokia 800 Tough. It is just as simple as it should be.

The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset and an Adreno 304 GPU as already mentioned.

It has an expandable internal storage of 4GB with 512 MB RAM. Again, you do not need more than that here. A microSD card can be used here up to 32GB.

Others

SNS applications, MP4, MP3, Organizer, Voice memo and Predictive text- neat!

Battery

Its 2100 mAh battery will last an average user 2-3 days. I need not convince anyone of this, do I? This is Nokia’s well known thing, long battery life.

Reasons to buy Nokia 800 Tough include: it is durable, it is tough, it is fun to have. Place your order today.
