Cutting-edge Kirin 990

You might want to read more about it: the new Kirin 990 5G chipset by following this link. Right away you will notice it has 5G added to its name. This is to show you that Huawei P40 Pro, just like its other P40 mates is powered by 5G network technology. This thanks to the world’s 1st Flagship 5G SoC powered with 7nm+ EUV. It is the Kirin 990 chipset that is responsible for the advanced intelligence and superior performance of the Huawei P40 Pro smartphone. This phone also has a self-developed NPU that delivers better power efficiency and faster processing capabilities. This chipset basically is the foundation stone unto which all things to love about this phone are built on. From camera to user experience, to connectivity you name it.

Huawei P40 Pro has Android 10.0 (AOSP + HMS) with EMUI 10.1 on top of it. Hopefully, this settles the doubts in the minds of all who are asking. It is Google services that are not extended here. In that case, do not marvel when you come across Huawei AppGallery. It is Huawei’s place to discover your next favorite Apps and Games. Speaking of apps and games. Basically, because you are not getting Play store here, you will now have Huawei AppGallery. Huawei P40 Pro comes with up to 512 GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage with either 6 or 8 GB RAM. There is room for internal storage expansion thanks to the NM (Nano Memory) slot. The same can be boosted up to 256GB (uses shared SIM slot).

Built for the Free Souls

Describing the design and build of a flagship device is not a walk in the pack. No, it isn’t. Some things are better seen and held than talked about. One of such is Huawei P40 Pro. Huawei would have you know that it is a phone Build for Free Souls. The build, therefore. The material used to construct this one is Glass on the front and the back. back. All around the phone is an aluminum frame. This build sees it weigh 209 grams within 158.2 x 72.6 x 9 mm dimension. Arguably 9mm thickness creates room to fit that massive battery. You are also getting IP68 certification for dust and/or water resistance up to 1.5m for 30 mins. Waterproofing provides sudden protection from raindrops or accidental splashes.

What you see on the back panel of the Huawei P40 Pro is a dark rectangular module that houses its main camera and three other lenses. It is quite a bump – but we will get to this shortly. It is also on the back panel that most of the color version of your phone is flossed. These are the color options of the Huawei P40 Pro. Silver Frost, Blush Gold, Deep Sea Blue, Ice White, and Black. Will you also miss to see the bottom-firing speaker grill of the P40 Pro? If yes, then rest assured you will not miss you hear its 32-bit/384kHz audio great audio quality. Down here is also a USB Type-C 1.0 port and SIM tray and noise cancellation mic. Huawei P40 Pro looks and feels like a true quality smartphone. It truly has a Look, Feel, and Touch full of excitement.

Visionary Photography

What is visionary photography? If it is not a 50 MP, f/1.9, 23mm (wide) main camera then I do not know. It is not a Periscope 12 MP, f/3.4, 125mm telephoto camera then once more, I cannot tell what it is. If visionary photography cannot be explained by a 40 MP, f/1.8, 18mm ultra-wide lens then, how else can it be? And to add the cherry on the cake, if a TOF 3D depth sensor cannot be named alongside it then I best resign. These are the camera lenses of the Huawei P40 Pro. With them come strong features like omnidirectional PDAF, OIS, and 5x optical zoom. These Leica optics lenses can record 4K videos at 2160p@30/60fps. The other qualities are 1080p@30/60fps, 720@7680fps, and 1080p@960fps.

It is important to note photo pixels vary depending on the shooting mode. Also, actual image resolution varies depending on the shooting mode. Still, with its 32 MP Selfie Camera you get 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) 60fps video recording and an image resolution up to 6528 x 4896 pixels. Huawei uses these words to remind you about the impeccable quality of its selfie camera, “Relax, You always look good.” How sweet; even to know that Auto Focus has got your back with _40 Pro’s front-facing camera.

Your Face is Your Password

There is one camera lens I have not mentioned. It is Huawei P40 Pro’s IR TOF 3D lens. Although I refer to it as a camera, it is for biometrics purposes only. With it you get Face Unlock which securely unlocks your phone after accurately detecting your face. Whether it be bright or dark, the verification is fast and reliable.

FullView, Super Definition

Huawei P40 Pro has a 6.58 inches OLED display. This display has up to 90 Hz frame refresh rate which is a feature we do not see on the base P40. The same is the case with DCI-P3 and HDR10 which are present with the display here panel here. HDR10 is the current industry standard for High Dynamic Range in consumer televisions. Its format allows for a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, and a color depth of 10 bits. The resolution we are dealing with here is 2640 x 1200 Pixels and a high ~441 PPI density. And did you also know that it is on this panel that you touch, Scan, and Verify? Yes! Huawei P40 Pro has an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. Huawei says it is an enlarged verification area with an ultra-fast verification. Disclaimer – the resolution is measured as a standard rectangle. With the design of the rounded corner of Huawei P40 Pro, the effective pixels are slightly less.

Your Face is Your Password

The one camera lens I have not mentioned in the IR TOF 3D lens. I refer to it as a camera, though it is a lens for biometrics purposes only. With it, you get Face Unlock which securely unlocks your phone after accurately detecting your face. Whether it be bright or dark, the verification is quite fast and reliable.

4200 mAh battery capacity

The 4200 mAh battery is sealed within Huawei P40 Pro. Here are some of its features: Fast charging 40W, wireless charging 27W, and fast reverse wireless charging. AI allocation mechanism makes better use of the 4200 mAh battery to achieve great performance and longer working time.
