I am tempted to declare that all smartphones Nokia will be releasing henceforth will feature Android One. But I choose to remain strong since it is only but the first quarter of 2019, way too early to assume such matters. As days go and with future releases it will be made known. But what is clear is that Nokia X71 has been featured for Android One program and no one can take that away from it.
Design and build
Nokia smartphones have a signature look. Expect the 6000 series aluminum frame on the X71. And as always it is features copper accent color. The same is the case on the fingerprint scanner’s rim and the boarder of the triple camera lens on its glass sandwich design. Its design language speaks Nokia Sirocco. Facing you is its bezel-less display thanks to its 6.93-inch punch hole display. The punch hole is on the top left and hides its front facing camera in it which shall handle face unlock security measures. The volume rocker and power button are to the RHS. Nokia X71 is a solid and well-crafted smartphone with a design, build and choice of material that aim to impress.
When you talk about its display the first thing that will come to mind, or will meet the eye is its front facing camera hole punch. It is on the top left corner of Nokia X71’s 6.39-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. A hole punch means no screen intrusion as on displays with a wide notch. It may take some getting used to but once that is out of the window, you will be good to go. I personally fancy it over other forms of notches. Overall the display here is decent with an impressive 1080 x 2316 pixels (~400 ppi density) resolution. It is mostly sharp thanks to the pixels count and ppi density. Outdoor visibility is top notch and that should go without say.
On the back we get three camera lenses. A 48MP Zeiss Optics lens that handles the heavy lifting, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a third 5MP depth sensor lens. Now, when these three lenses combine effort to take a picture, the results will make you consider a career in professional photography. It doesn’t stop at that since video recording on Nokia X71 is also breath taking with 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps video recording, that’s 4K.
It still doesn’t stop at that because there is yet another impressive camera in the 16MP selfie shooter. I tell you this is a true smartphone for a true lover of photos. Be wise if you are such a person and get you a brand-new Nokia X71 from Phone Place Kenya today.
Performance and memory
Experience groundbreaking platform performance with Android 9.0 (Pie); Android One powered and driven with a Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 (14 nm) chipset, an Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260) CPU and an Adreno 512 GPU. Snapdragon 660 is like a bridge between midrange and high-end chipsets. And to add on it is a power efficient chipset too.
Internal storage and memory
Nokia X71 is a 6GB RAM smartphone with 128GB internal storage which can also be expanded yet up to 256 GB by insertion of microSD card. I am yet to hear bad reports concerning 4GB RAM smartphones. Therefore, logic dictated that with 6GB RAM you can never go wrong.
Battery: It has a Li-Po 3500 mAh battery capacity which is non-removable and is charged via quick charging 18W.
Why you should buy Nokia X71
- Great camera performance
- Great display
- Android One smartphone
- Good battery life
I really have no idea what more anyone would ask for with Nokia X71. And if it hasn’t sunk in yet, let us remember how affordable it is compared to smartphones in its league. This is a real bargain take it while you can.
