Performance and platform
The powerful Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor is capable of playing games with ease and comes with excellent power consumption control. This is the chipset present on the Realme 7i and is the same chipset we see on other comparable phones like Oppo F17 and Motorola Moto G9 Play. Performance is smooth, which is accentuated further by the 90 Hertz display. Resource-intensive apps are no problem at all. And you can run as many of them as you want with the 8 GB of RAM see also Huawei nova 7i. Did I mention it has either 64GB of internal storage? You also get a more popular 128GB version powered with either 4GB or 8GB RAM.
Display
I find that the main difference between the display panel of Realme 6 and Realme 7i is the 720 x 1600 pixels resolution the 7i comes with. This is actually a downgrade since the former has 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Looking at the details, it still remains a 6.5-inch display that uses a nice IPS LCD pane. Viewing angles are good and colors are accurate, but brightness is not as high as we would have preferred with a 270 PPI density.
What makes Realme 7i stand out is the smooth 90 Hertz refresh rate. A 90 Hertz refresh rate in a mid-range smart for at this price tag, it’s uncommon. It’s a visually pleasing experience while you’re navigating the UI. It is also safe to know that this one comes with Corning Gorilla Glass display protection to ensure longevity, and also durability.
Cameras
To be honest, I cannot help but compare this phone to the Realme 6. Even the camera modules are the same except for a one-minute separation. That is, while the R6 has a 2 MP B/W, f/2.4, (depth) lens, this one comes with a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) to take its place. And with video recording, while the 6 can shoot with a higher quality up to 4K@30fps, Realme 7i shoots videos with quality maxed out at 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS, which is still okay. By the way, using movie filters in Soloop App can make your videos look more advanced and professional!
To the cameras now. They are six and have got four of them on the back. That’s a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Let’s set up nice and versatile as we have ultra white and macro cameras, both of which have proven to be useful. If you are interested in knowing even more, then click this link. Quality from the rear cameras under bright light conditions is pretty great as we get vibrant colors and sharp detail. Keep an eye on the dynamic range which can be better. These cameras pass the litmus test for a decent mid-range smartphone. And in case you are wondering, the selfie camera present on Realme 7i is a 16 MP, f/2.1 front-facing lens. It also shoots 1080p@30fps videos.
Realme 7i battery
Now for battery, I dare say Realme 7i packs a better battery (size-wise) than the phone we have been comparing it with. It is a massive 5,000 mAh capacity, which is great considering that you will be using this phone for taking lots of photos and lots of gaming. The battery can easily last you a whole day of extreme usage. And thanks to 18W quick charge which can quickly restore power, so you won’t worry about running out of it.
