Phone overview

Infinix launched its latest mid-range smartphone in Note 8 in 2020, on October 15. It comes with Li-Po 5200 mAh, a non-removable battery, as well as an affordable price tag for its mid-end specs and features. The phone arrives in colors Gray, Blue, and Green. There is one price tag for the Infinix Note 8 in Kenya as well for the different memory variants. It costs 21,800 shillings for the 128 GB version which also comes with 8GB of RAM- has a look at Note 8i

Cinematic Display

Okay seriously though, what comes to mind when you hear that word, cinematic? To some, it is watching videos and movies, and to others playing games. Whatever it be, Note 8’s display makes for an all-around immersive experience. Keep in mind that this is a Dual Infinity-O display. This means your view is uninterrupted. And then the phone has an 83.0% screen-to-body ratio with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. Its brightness can go up to a maximum of 480 nits. But I would also have you know that this display is an IPS panel with 720 x 1640 pixels resolution 480 nits (peak).

I am also moved to make mention of the effortless display experience that Infinix Note 8 avails. This is due to the intuitive gestures navigation feature. Gone are the days when capacitive keys were necessary for one to be able to navigate on a smartphone. This navigation feature is mainly, we speculate because of the OS this phone comes with. But more on this later. The point to take home here is that once you get a hold of these gestures there will be no going back. Now on the cinematic screen bit. Infinix Note 8 comes with a 6.95 inches HD+ Dual Infinity-O display. The main difference between his display and that on Infinix Note 7 is that there is a cut out that accommodates dual selfies while on the former, single.

Excellent performance

There seems to be a lot of hype around that Helio G80 chipset Infinix Note 8 comes with. And Infinix made it emphatically clear that the performance of this phone can justly be measured by how it holds up during gaming. The smartphone maker says you are getting a GPU image rendering frequency upgrade compared with Helio G70 (NOTE 7). that high-performance chipset delivers an E-sports experience, make you the ace in every game – from the official product website page. In regard to the operating system, this phone is powered by Android 10, themed by Infinix’s XOS 7.1 skin.

Also under the hood of Infinix Note 8 is an Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. 128 GB of internal storage seems to be the standard storage capacity on midrange and even high-end smartphones nowadays. This is the same capacity Note 8 boasts coupled with 6GB of RAM. And as one would expect, a microSDXC (dedicated slot) slot for storage expansion has been included here. By dedicated, we mean, you will not sacrifice a SIM slot in order to swap it with the memory card.

Sounds with DTS

Now Infinix NOTE 8 comes with powerful dual stereo speakers. These speakers feature an enhancement known as DTS® 3D. It is an object-based audio standard, which means that sound sources are tagged with a location in a 3D space, rather than being pre-mixed into 5.1 or 7.1 channels. To put it simply, you are getting sound enhancement for movies and games, with or without headphones.

Might I just slot in the design of this phone at this point in a few copied words, please? Infinix Note 8 features a 20.5:9 screen with a dual super tiny camera punch hole. Its fingerprint scanner is mounted on the power button just in case you are wondering. As for the phone’s appealing gem cut design, you will be pleased with the comfortable grip it has to offer thanks to the unique lines and technological originality on its back panel.

Cool features of Infinix Note 8

Infinix Note 8 is a great smartphone even for its affordable price tag. This is because it has some amazing features that we have not seen in previous generation Infinix smartphones. Take X-Clone for example which enables you to run multiple accounts for the same app on the device simultaneously. It supports WhatsApp, Messenger, Snapchat, and Instagram. The other is Smart Scanner-Translator which supports real-time translation and voice-to-text conversion in more than 40 languages, translates words into your target language instantly.

Image Compressor is also available on Infinix Note 8 and this is what it does. You do not have to worry about storage anymore because Image Compressor got you covered. The same compress photo size from MB to in KB in a split of a second. Also note down your thoughts anytime and anywhere, recording the detail of every wonderful moment with Xnote 4.0. Here though I must mention that this feature would have been extremely useful if this phone had an official Stylus Pen.

Battery

Finally, all these great and amazing stuff are not useful if the battery isn’t. Luckily this is not the case. Infinix Note 8 has a long-lasting 5,200 mAh battery with 18W Supercharge 3.0 – the fastest battery charging technology on Infinix smartphones. Infinix speaks of this battery saying a Marathon Tech is Embedded but come on really. We admit it is a large battery capacity, no doubt. But it is not anything like what we see on Galaxy M51 with its monstrous 7,000 mAh, non-removable pack.
