Now the space gray version looks a little bit darker than we normally see. It’s very dark compared to last year’s iPad. It’s a much darker space, gray. This one is closer to what we have as far as the magic track-pad for the iMac pro. So it’s a very dark space gray. I think it looks great! And I like it in this darker color compared to the iPhone 11 pro. It does match it a little bit closer. You’ll see they’re a little different as far as the shades, but that gives you an idea. As far as the darkness. Now, what makes this one a little bit different is it’s a 10.2-inch display compared to last year’s display. This iPad measures 250.6 x 174.1 x 7.5 mm and weighs about 490 g for the Wi-Fi version and 495 g for the LTE version.
The display of the Apple iPad 10.2 2020 is a little bit different than last year’s 7th Gen 10.2 inch. It’s a 10.2-inch display no doubt but this time it is a Retina IPS LCD, 500 nits (type), and not just an IPS panel. But it is still not laminated. So it’s actually below the glass. So that should make it a little bit easier to repair, but these iPads are getting so cheap used or refurbished that honestly, it’s probably cheaper just to buy another one. Now, before I set the Apple iPad 10.2 2020 up, there are a couple more things to know. This has Wi-Fi 802.11. And it also has Bluetooth 4.2, not Bluetooth 5.0 (bummer!). If you have the cellular model, you also get some GPS functions. Now it has a 32.4 Wh watt-hour battery, which should be good for 10 hours of usage, just like any other iPad.
On the back of this tablet/iPad, you get a single camera. And it is quite impressive despite being a single low-megapixel shooter. It’s an 8 MP camera lens. That is f2.4, as far as its aperture, and it’s a 1080p video camera. We take a look at the front camera and the front camera is very low resolution. It’s just a 1.2 megapixel FaceTime camera. It’s it records in 720p. So it’s not very good. It’s good for FaceTime only. And maybe a few funny pictures or things like that. Of course, camera features such as HDR, and panorama are present here.
The software feels nice and fast. Overall, the experience is great. The rest of that is not going to have bugs of iOS 13 since it comes preinstalled with iPadOS 14. We think this is pretty good. Overall, it’s a solid device and you should be able to get a smart cover pretty reasonably, or you can use that keyboard attachment and use an external keyboard case, which is quite expensive about half the price of the iPad. But if you already have one on another device, you can share them as well.
In the box
Inside the box, we get a USB to lightning cable just as we would expect. And we’ve got a little bit of documentation there. It says iPad. It’s telling us how to use it a little bit little warranty and then some pretty small Apple stickers. You got a power adapter here as well, and this is the power adapter. It’s not a fast charging adapter, but this is what most iPads include unless it’s an iPad pro-product website. Now Apple iPad 10.2 2020 inch comes in three different colors. These are space gray, but it also comes in gold and silver just like all the other iPads. The Apple iPad 10.2 2020 itself and looks very much like the Apple iPad 7th Gen 10.2.
